1920–1930 Wester Bros Solingen Germany #34 DE-FI In Box

   Here we have, in excellent condition, a WESTER BROS, NEW YORK, 9/16",
FULL HOLLOW, ORIGINAL, straight razor (1920–1930 from the scale and razor
designs.) Wester Bros De-Fi "34 New York Original 9/16" Made By Wester &
Butz, Merscheid Solingen Germany. The razor measures 6" closed and 9" open. 

  The celluloid handle is chocolate and dark brown in color.  The coffin is
in extremely good condition with a very minimal amount of ware, the original
factory sticker is still on the inside, readable and also in excellent
condition. This is an extremely beautiful collectors vintage straight razor.

  The razor comes with the original pins, bolsters, scales and paper storage
box. Blade is in immaculate condition with no hone wear. Scales are straight,
pins are tight and blade centers nicely. The blade measures 9/16". On the
front shank it says, De-Fi #34, Reg U.S. PAT.OFF.  On the back it says,
Wester Bros, Solingen Germany, with their trademark. The trade mark is
clearly visible. This is a beatiful and RARE example of a brand new looking
Wester Bros, De-Fi #34. Please don't forget to look at the pictures as they
are part of the description, also please disregard the fingerprints on the
blade, those are mine.

When I describe an object as 'VINTAGE' or 'ANTIQUE' they will have the typical wear and tear you
would expect with an older piece. Light scratches, scuffing & crazing and such like would be
expected as opposed to a NEW condition. If an item is in MINT condition I will say so. If an item
has any major issues - dents, deep marks, stains or heavy scratches etc. I will bring these to your

Wester History:
The Wester & Butz steel factory was founded in 1832 in Mersceid, a town west
of Solingen, Germany and was listed there in 1925 and 1928 as an open-blade
razor maker. They made the Anchor Brand Straight Edge Razor imported solely
by Wester Bros New York, originally founded in 1891 as Jacoby & Wester. NYC
business directories of 1908 and 1909 list Wester Brothers (Carl & Max) at
148 Chambers Street, now a wine shop, Chambers Street Wines a 1922 directory
lists Mr. Charles Wester, Wester Brothers, 71 Murray Street and 1929 and 1931
have Wester Brothers on 250 W. Broadway.
