1956 Gillette Diplomat Razor w Case All Original

1956 Gillette Diplomat Razor w Case All Original
RICHARDS RAZORS;  MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE!

The Diplomat is a TTO (Twist to Open) razor and was produced between 1953 and 1956. This razor
is 24 ct. Gold plated with a top coat of lacquer to protect the gold, as it is a very soft metal.
The set comes with 10 Gillette Blue Blades. The razor is in "MINT" condition with no
wear and appears to have never been used. The razor case is also in "MINT" condition
there are no tares inside or scratches or gouges on the outside.  The outside of the
case still holds all of the gold embossing.

One way to identify this beauty is the handle, which is thicker than the Super Speed, it is fluted
and completely knurled the entire length from neck to knob unlike the Aristocrat of the same
years which had a smooth band just above the knob. The Diplomat is 3.25” in overall length and
weighs in at 70 grams. The blade gap of this razor is .64mm, which is the same as the Gillette
New. One other thing to note is that this razor came with the notched center bar to accept the use
of the Blue Blade dispenser packs produced at the time. The Diplomat came in a very handsome
leather clad case that was embossed with the Gillette crest in 24 ct Gold Leaf.

This razor is one of my favorites, as I own another I occasionally use it. I get a fantastic
shave from it, very comfortable and clean. There is just something about shaving with a 24 ct.
Gold razor that just seems to make the shave that much more luxurious. Now you have the
opportunity to buy a Gillette Diplomat, I highly recommend you jump on it, you won't be seeing
another anytime soon.

Platter Oval Silver Medium Hotel Service Heavy

Platter Oval Silver Medium Hotel Service Heavy
RICHARDS RAZORS;  MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE!

This is a World War II hotel service heavy silver plate medium oval platter
It was made by the German silver fabricators Gebruder Hepp, noted for making
many of the silver service items for the larger German hotels during the
reign of the German high command.  The maker mark is At the bottom of the
inside: GEBR HEPP, and silver content 90. The condition is used, with some
little nicks and dings and light tarnish from everyday routine use. It is in
overall very good serviceable original condition.  The platter measures
12 5/8 by 8 5/8 inches by 15/16 inches high.  Marked by the inscription
"GEBR.HEPP90", where “90” is probably related to the amount of silver used
for plating.

Gebruder Hepp was founded in 1863 by brothers Otto & Carl. Carl, a chemist,
was instrumental in the development of the metal alloy "Alpacca" - also
known as "German Silver" - and developed a process to plate the alpacca with
a thick coating of fine silver. Gebr. Hepp were large suppliers to hotels,
restaurants and cruise ships. The factory passed through several hands in
the teens and 20s, finally being destroyed during WWII and not rebuilt until
1952 by then owner Harry Frank. It was sold in 1988 to WMF [Wurttembergische
Metalwarenfabrik], but again destroyed by a fire in 1990. It was once again
rebuilt in Birkenfeld in 2001. They are still in business.
The ?90? is a designation of silver plate quality, usually indicating the
total amount of silver in a specified number of pieces - generally one dozen
each of table spoons and forks (24 total) - would contain 90 grams of pure
silver.

HISTORY:
HEPP quality stems not only from the history of the company that invented
hotel silverware, but particularly in today’s context, from modern
manufacturing and stringent quality control as well.

The brothers Otto and Carl Hepp: Up until 1863 tableware in hotels and
restaurants was made solely of genuine silver. Its disadvantage was that it
quickly showed sign of wear as it was too soft. Added to that it was
expensive and very heavy. That gave Carl Hepp the idea of creating products
that looked like silver but provided the advantages of a harder, longer-
lasting and more economic material. He developed a method of coating nickel
silver with fine silver. This was the birth of hotel silverware.

Stormy years of expansion followed. The idea was a success and hotels,
restaurants as well as the ocean-going liners of North German Lloyds were
equipped with the unique HEPP hotel silverware. In the early sixties the
basic material, nickel silver was increasingly abandoned due to new know-how
and further developments. It was replaced by the new material 18/10 stainless
steel, that was more versatile in use.

Their success – then as now – incorporates traditional values such as
reliability and quality as well as their vast innovative energy. By developing
new processes and products and keeping production flexible they always keep
their finger on the pulse of progress. These are factors that inspire the
confidence of leading hotels, shipping lines, airlines and hospitals and
that result in their worldwide success.

1930 RONSON RAZOR SELF SHARPENING

1930 RONSON RAZOR SELF SHARPENING
RICHARDS RAZORS;  MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE!

This Ronson Razor is in MINT condition.  This razors head lifts and then pivots so you can
resharpen the blade in the palm of your hand using the roller on the backside of the razor. This
American made Ronson Safety Razor will give you many great shaves for years to come!!!
This Ronson razor is highly sought after in the razor collecting world especially one in
this wonderfully preserved condition.  The razor functions as perfect as it did decades ago;
furthermore, it has maintained it's distingushed beauty.

One side of the razor head is typical for shaving but the other side has a roller that would
sharpen the opposing side of the blade. Unscrewing the lower section of the handle “unlocks” it
so the upper knurled section can be depressed and the top of the head can rotate to turn the
blade over. To remove the blade you remove the round knurled screw from the top so the plate can
be removed. The name is on top plate and on the underneath side of the head it shows that it was made by the
Ronson Products Co. with patents dating it to 1925.  The razor is in perfect condition with no wear to the plating.
It measures about 3 ¼” in length and the head measures about 1 ¾” wide.
